Blake’s Career Journey

Originally working as part of a family-owned boutique nursing recruitment agency focused on temporary staffing and labour hire, we found that it was very difficult to grow or scale the business with different software for each different function.

There was no "end-to-end" system for that niche of temp recruitment in the industry that would take applicants all the way from new candidate to paid payroll. Most systems in the industry were either quite old or brought from overseas and bastardised to work in Australia. There was also no way for nurses to easily be assigned work, reject work, or submit timesheets.

We built a beta system and tested it in that business from 2009–2015 as our nursing agency staffing system. Entire OnHire debuted in Australia in 2015 as a customisable PAAS software that provides an "out of the box" end-to-end system for the recruitment, staffing, and labour hire industries.

The business expanded into further healthcare divisions, including doctor locum staffing, disability, and community staffing. Later, we expanded further into education, childcare, construction, industrial, mining, hospitality, and even the NDIS. By 2017, the business had clients in every state except NT.

Co-founding a business dedicated to elevating businesses and enriching people’s lives has been one of my greatest successes. Growing the business from myself and my partner to an international team of experts reflects the supportive and friendly work culture that I have prioritised building.
